How to Build up Self Esteem and Confidence

Today, many people have a problem with low self-esteem and a lack of self-confidence. If you have a low level of self-esteem, you will get demotivated by others’ comments on you.

Self-esteem is nothing but, What you think about yourself, is self-esteem. Today so many people are worried about their low self-esteem levels. They have very low confidence to do any work. They always thought that ‘What Will People Say?’

So, in this article, I will tell you the 6 pillars of self-esteem and will explain How to Build up Self Esteem and Confidence.

These 6 rules are taken from the book 6 pillars of self-esteem written by Nathaniel Branden. If you practice these steps regularly, definitely your level of self-esteem becomes very high..

1] The Practice of Living Consciously:

Consider two types of people, The first one is job-oriented. He doesn’t like his work, he’s just living his life. He does his 9 to 5 job and can not give time to his family.

The second person likes his job and he does his work happily. He achieves more goals in the office and in his life. Also, he spends his time happily with his family.

From the above situation, you must have understood that the second person has high self-esteem level than the first one. Because he is living in today.

In Short: Don’t live a blurry life. Live in present, look around you what’s happening.

2] The Practice of Self-Acceptance:

I am…

Do you know, why fairness cream sells? Because we have a lack of self-acceptance. We think about ourselves such as why is my complexion so dark, he/she is fairer than me, why is my hair loss, and so on. We compare these things with others and get disappointed.

Think if Sachin Tendulkar grieves for his short height so he wouldn’t be in this position. Comparison with others is such a game in which nobody can win!

What should you do in this situation?

There are two types of things in our life Changeable and Unchangeable.

The things that are Changeable, you can Improve. But the things that you think are Unchangeable you must Accept

Learn to accept and improve yourself.

3] The Practice of Self-Responsibility:

There are a lot of people around us who never exercise, do not eat a good diet, and have no schedule. And when someone asks them about their increasing weight, anger, etc then they use the name of a medical condition to describe themselves as a victim.

They try to hide their bad habits by using any medical condition to get sympathy.

If you want to keep your self-esteem level high, you must have to take responsibility for your financial, medical, intellectual, and social activity.

Take responsibility for every activity in your life.

4] The Practice of Self-Assertiveness:

You will never find any person who does not take responsibility and has high self-esteem level. We should always stick to our values in any situation. You had faced many situations in your life when your best friends forced you to smoke or drink.

Let me tell you a Golden Statement of this article. If any of your friends force you or insist on smoking, drinking, or any kind of drug. Then he is not your friend, he is your enemy. A true friend never attracts you toward these things.

Tell the world what you are. Then you will be able to ignore the negative comments of people.

5] The Practice of Living Purposefully:

You must be 100% sure about your values. A person without values has always low self-esteem. You must set a goal in your life.

When a river originates from a mountain, its purpose is only to reach the sea. And it flows on its way. Think, if a river flow here & there without any motive then it will create a flood situation.

In the same way, if you do your work without any goal, it will tire you till evening, and you won’t get anything from it. Therefore, It is very important to have some purpose in life.

Set a goal in your life and try hard to get it.

Set Your Goal

6] The Practice of Personal Integrity:

We have broken many rules in our school or college days. And we enjoyed it, didn’t regret it. But when we do any activity against our principles, it hurts our inner man. At this time our self-esteem destroys.

You need to understand, that mistakes are made by man. So, instead of regretting, learn from your mistakes. Face your weaknesses confidently and Grow More in your life.

Stick to your values, and don’t act against your values. Otherwise, you can not face your inner voice and your self-esteem becomes low.

So, these are the 6 pillars of self-esteem by Nathaniel Branden. You need to practice these 6 steps and implemented them in life. After some days it will become your habit and self-esteem will be visible on your face and through your personality.
